I have been working in the visual arts for the past forty years in a variety of different forms, media and approaches to content. My primary focus over the past twenty years or so has been generated by an interest in landscape and in particular the manipulation of it by man. I love the concept of gardens and have
explored both the eastern and western approach to gardens within my work. This is the primary reason for my interest in bonsai, as seen in other parts of
this site. Having taught graphic design for twenty five years plus has helped develop a strong sense of two dimensional space, colour as well as a strong interest in typography and the written work which is sprinkled throughout many of my works.
I spent a considerable amount of time developing the skill of making paper by hand and still enjoy the medium and the tactile surface that it provides
for my work. For a more extensive list of exhibitions, projects, grants and other accomplishments, a full CV [bio.pdf] is attached to the contact page.
